Properties: it is the white or light yellow fibroid powder, non-toxic, odurless and well hygroscopic. It becomes ropy colloid after dissolving in water, but it is insoluble in ethanol, aether or chloroform.
Application: CMC is used most versatile in cellulose ethers production, known as "work industry monosodium glutamate". Oil drilling grade CMC used in fracturing fluid, drilling fluid, cementing fluid and tackifier. It can protect the shaft wall and prevent mud loss, so as to enhance recovery efficiency. Food grade CMC can be used to stabilize yogurt and prevent settling, to improve mouthfeel and to allow longer shelf life. |
